How to Avoid Swallowing E-liquid When Smoking Your E-Cigarette
If you just started with e-cigarettes, you already swallowed e-liquid accidentally several times. This happens when e-liquid leaks from the e-cigarette cartridge, through the mouthpiece, and into your mouth, while you’re smoking. It’s probably more unpleasant than dangerous—e-liquid tastes bitter and it stings.
A number of things can cause your e-cigarette to leak e-liquid. Here are some tips that can help you avoid swallowing e-liquid:
- Avoid refilling your e-cigarette cartridge to overflowing. If you do, use a napkin to absorb the overflow and clean the e-cigarette cartridge before sliding it back into the mouthpiece.

- If you don’t have a napkin or if you want to make sure there’s no e-liquid inside the mouthpiece that leaked from the cartridge, after you slide the cartridge inside the mouthpiece, blow several times into the mouthpiece against the cartridge inside; you’ll see a mist of e-liquid spraying on the other side of the mouthpiece.

- When you smoke your e-cigarette, you should keep it horizontal between your fingers. You can swallow e-liquid if you keep your e-cigarette in a vertical position when smoking.

An interesting post. Thanks for sharing!
I can certainly see why some people would be concerned about swallowing e-liquid, it CAN be dangerous, of course. But that’s all I ever do now. I simply put a drop or two on my tongue, depending on strength, and have learned the hard way how (and why not) to use too much. Too much can “poison” you, sure, but to truly hurt an adult you would have to swallow A LOT, and I mean a WHOLE lot. A few extra drops at a time won’t harm you long-term, although it can: 1)upset your stomach big time; 2) cause headaches and dizziness; 3) make you really thirsty for COLD water, which never tasted as great as it does when the thirst is caused by too much nicotine; and 4) raise your blood pressure. I consider it a big dose if I get watery eyes and start hiccuping a bit. I actually like that feeling now…
All of the above symptoms of “nicotine poisoning” disappear fairly rapidly (ten minutes or less), and assuming you “survive”, there is NO long term damage at all. I researched this extensively before I started doing it. “Food quality” PG is used in vape juice, at least if it’s made in the US, and PG is approved by the FDA as a food additive. It’s used as an emulsifier in many foods, including BABY FOOD. I get unflavored juice, which is just the PG and the nicotine, nothing else at all, so there is nothing else to worry about. It’s all about the nicotine that way, and if you learn what to do, it’s just as safe as vaping but way faster and no one can ever say a damn thing about you doing it. You can literally do it ANYWHERE, privately, no comments from the peanut gallery, ever. I did it during my nephew’s wedding ceremony this past summer, and didn’t so much as get a sideways glance – that I could see, at least.
It’s way easier, way more convenient, faster, and more satisfying than regular vaping. I obviously wouldn’t suggest eating the stuff if you’ve already got high blood pressure, because one mistake might send you over the top, who knows. But otherwise, just go slow and careful and you’ll be fine.
In any event, getting a little juice on your skin in really not a big deal at all. I wouldn’t exactly take a bath in the stuff, but to do so would cost a small fortune anyway. Just wash your damn hands and keep it out of your eyes, and trust me, you’ll be just fine. The main point about e-liquid from the medical perspective is that whatever you might do, if you survive the initial physical consequences, you will then experience a full recovery in no time. There is no long term effect from nicotine poisoning after the initial effects wear off. None.
I’d just look at a spill as a good excuse to get a little extra, myself.
lol, good stuff. I’m a beginner and yet to try eliquid.
Wow, that’s what I was looking for, what a data! existing here at this blog, thanks admin of this web page.
